In-process agent OSes and durable control planes over disposable sandboxes

Today's clone-and-run stack favors Rust and Go runtimes that embed isolation, policy, and multi-agent rooms inside your process or cluster instead of renting another microVM. Power users wire these control planes, OS sandboxes, and unified harness routers into long-lived loops.

01 — Power tools

The stack

    OpenFang↗

    RightNow-AI

Single-binary Rust Agent OS with channels, skills, providers, scheduled Hands, and a local dashboard.

Use caseUse it to run always-on autonomous agents from one ~32MB binary without a Python dependency tree.

  2. 02repoGitHub
    IronClaw↗

    nearai

Privacy and security focused Agent OS in Rust with extensible channels, WASM lanes, and supervised autonomy.

Use caseUse it to self-host a multi-channel personal agent stack with OS-level sandbox defaults.

    Rebuno↗

    rebuno

Production execution runtime that records every tool and LLM call as durable steps with YAML policy gates.

Use caseUse it to resume interrupted multi-framework agents from Postgres event logs with approval holds.

    durablepolicygo
  4. 04toolGitHub
    oh-my-agentic-coder↗

    TNG

Harness-agnostic Go CLI that sandboxes coding agents with Seatbelt, bubblewrap, and Landlock while bridging skills and secrets.

Use caseUse it to confine OpenCode, Pi, or CodeWhale sessions so the harness never holds raw secrets.

    AgentOS (smartcomputer)↗

    smartcomputer-ai

Rust harness for self-evolving agents with deterministic replay, signed receipts, and governed self-modification.

Use caseUse it to let agents propose and apply harness changes under audit trails and simulation gates.

    HarnessRouter↗

    HarnessRouter

Self-hosted unified API that turns existing coding harnesses into backends via the Unified Harness Protocol.

Use caseUse it to route product tasks across Codex, Hermes, and Pi through one session-aware OpenAI-compatible endpoint.

  7. 07toolGitHub
    Prime Agent↗

    PrimeIntellect-ai

Self-improving RLM coding and research agent with a continual harness for durable skills, memory, and subagents.

Use caseUse it to run long-horizon research loops where context lives as REPL variables and refinable harness state.

  8. 08harnessGitHub
    OpenRig↗

    mvschwarz

YAML-defined multi-agent rig that boots mixed coding harnesses as a coordinated team.

Use caseUse it to declare Claude-side and Codex-side agents in one config and launch them together.
